The saying is absolutely true, "Teamwork makes the Dreamwork"!
I've always worked better independently because if you want something done perfectly, you ought to do it yourself. Over the years however, I've discovered that life doesn't always work that way. Life divvies you up in teams, whether you like it or not. At work, at volunteering, on school projects, in sports and even in marriage! It's always best for everyone to be on their "A" game, but when someone is not, other folks on the team are there to step up and help pull the team to the finish line.
I come from a family of 6 boys, so we know what teamwork is like. The most important part of teamwork in my opinion, is being vocal when you need help or need more time. We learned this the hard way when playing soccer as a kid. Sometimes you think you can do it all, but overestimate yourself. And that's okay -- but you've got to communicate it, even when its hard to.
To help me with this, I often put my feelings (and pride) aside and visualize the results. "What am I trying to achieve?" Only then when I'm ultra-motivated to reach my goal, I start to understand that there are sacrifices and strategies that are required to be put in play.
